How can I participate?

You can register by one of the following three methods: by being part of the Hosts’ or Leaders’ personal network and getting invited by them (Phase 1); by knowing someone who registers during Phase 1 and asking them to sponsor you for Phase 2; or, by signing up to the waiting list and registering during Phase 3.

How do you get invited to Le Dîner en Blanc - Canberra?

Registration to attend Le Dîner en Blanc is in 3 phases. Phase 1 is for members of Le Dîner en Blanc of the previous edition. Members automatically receive an invitation. Phase 2 is a chance for members to sponsor a friend, family member, colleague… Phase 3 is for everyone on the waiting list! As the number of people on the waiting list has grown exponentially since our first edition, not all people will actually make it through registration due to limited available spaces. Space allocation is on a “first in first served” basis. Please note that being on last year’s or this year’s waiting list does not automatically guarantee you will become a member.

What are the most important rules of Le Dîner en Blanc - Canberra?

Le Dîner en Blanc is an evening like no other. Ticketed guests must attend, hail rain or shine. Participants dressed in chic, original and only white, arrive at a designated departure point with their table, chairs, and picnic equipment to make their way to the secret location with their Table Leader by chartered bus or organized public transport. At the event, people make new friends - don’t smoke at the table

What is the dress-code?

All guests must dress in white from head to toe. This means no ivory, no off-white, and no beige… No black and/or brown belts or shoes allowed. Originality is always encouraged, as long as it stays stylish and tasteful.

What should be on the all-important guests’ packing list?

1 square folding table (60cm to 80cm max.), 2 white folding chairs, 1 white tablecloth, 2 white serviettes, picnic equipment for 2 including cutlery, an Ice bucket, polycarbonate* glassware, plates and table decorations like votive candles (for al fresco dinning), bottle opener, flowers… (your taste and imagination are the boundaries), garbage bag(s) and a lighter. Strictly no disposable cutlery or plates. * To avoid potential accidents and littering of broken glass, ACT venues and Police have demanded that our guests bring non-disposable polycarbonate wine glassware.

Why is the size and shape of the tables so important?

The use of square folding tables (60 cm to 80 cm max) optimizes the use of space at the site and also contributes to the visual harmony of Le Dîner en Blanc by creating rows of long banquet tables.

Will the event be cancelled or postponed in case of adverse weather conditions?

COME TO DINE, RAIN OR SHINE. Le Dîner en Blanc is a rain or shine event. Each guests’ presence is necessary and mandatory, regardless of the weather. In case of rain, guests must remember to bring a white or transparent raincoat, poncho and/or umbrella. However, if public safety becomes an issue due to severe weather (ex. thunderstorms, hurricanes, tornadoes…), the local Hosts may decide to cancel or postpone the event.

How many guests can I invite?

As a new attendee, you can invite one guest i.e. your table companion, this completes your table of two. If you are a member, you can sponsor another person to be invited for Phase 2 ticketing. Don’t forget to sponsor your friend when processing your membership in Phase 1.
